TapScanner MOD APK — description

Version status: TapScanner MOD v3.1.23 matches the current Google Play release (v3.1.23, checked Oct 28, 2026).

TapScanner MOD APK 3.1.23 is the current build of the scanner with 100 million Google Play installs and 4.5 stars from three million reviews, published by its source as Premium Unlocked. TapScanner's free tier is tighter than most: five saves a day, a watermark on exports, ads, and a handful of credits before the editor, the ID-card template and the merge tool ask for the subscription — Tap's own reply to reviewers is "free with 5 saves daily, premium is for unlimited use". This build switches that Premium flag on the device, so the daily cap, the watermark, the ads and the credit gates are gone, and the tools TapScanner runs on the phone — ID scan, signature, merge and split, reorder, filters, password protection, compression — open without the trial sheet. One thing it does not need to unlock: OCR, which Tap's own help centre says is free on Android. The file is a single 43 MB APK; we opened it, and it reports package pdf.tap.scanner, version 3.1.23, Android 9 minimum and 64-bit ARM libraries only. No root.

What the Premium Unlocked MOD actually changes

  • No daily cap — the five-saves-a-day limit on the free tier is the thing most people hit first; the Premium flag removes it.
  • No watermark — exported PDFs and images come out clean; the stamp is applied on the phone, so the flag covers every export.
  • No ads and no credit gates — no interstitials after scans, and the editor, ID-card template, merge, split, password and compress tools open without spending credits or starting a trial.
  • Same scanner otherwise — edge detection, shadow removal, the Good / Better / Best quality setting, multi-page PDFs, batch scanning and export to PDF, JPG, DOC and XLS are the app's own.

What it does not do: it does not change what runs where. Scanning, filters, signing, merging and PDF export happen on the phone; jobs like PDF-to-Word conversion and the Tap AI tools (the object counter, the clean-up) are the kind of work an app sends to a server, and if TapScanner does, a flag on the device does not buy them. Backup goes to your own Google Drive, Dropbox or OneDrive — TapScanner has no cloud quota to unlock. OCR is not a mod feature either, because Android users already get it. And the trial-to-subscription mechanics that annoy people in the store version simply never appear, because nothing asks you to subscribe.

TapScanner 3.1.23 — the build

The build is 3.1.23, the version the file reports. TapScanner updates every week or two; when the source posts a newer file our daily check publishes it after a review, and the version on this page always matches the download. Documents live in the app's own storage, so an update over the top keeps them; a full uninstall takes them with it — export or back up first. The file is 64-bit only and needs Android 9, which rules out older budget phones that the store listing's "varies with device" would not warn you about.

Where it shines

Quick, clean scans without a ritual: point at the page, the corners snap, shadows go, and the result saves as a PDF in a tap. The ID-card template puts both sides of a licence or ID on one page, the signature tool drops a saved signature or initials onto a form, and the PDF tools merge, split, reorder, compress and password-protect without another app. It is smaller and faster than CamScanner, with the same no-watermark result once Premium is on — the trade-off is fewer organising features and no cloud of its own.

Requirements

  • Android 9 or newer (read from the file), 64-bit ARM phones only — the APK carries no 32-bit libraries
  • Single 43 MB APK, no OBB, no root
  • Works offline for scanning, editing, signing and PDF export; internet for OCR language downloads, conversions and backup to your cloud
  • Permissions are camera and storage; unlike CamScanner's build there is no location permission in the manifest
  • A different signature from the Play Store app, so it will not install over the store copy; export or back up documents first

Who this build is for

People who want a small, fast scanner that saves more than five pages a day without a watermark or a subscription — students scanning notes, anyone sending signed forms — and who do not depend on PDF-to-Word conversion. If you need a bigger document manager with its own cloud, the CamScanner build below is the heavier alternative.

Installer says "App not installed"? The leftover store copy is the usual cause — MOD APK "App not installed" fix walks through it. For the rest of a paperwork setup there is TickTick with Premium unlocked, and the scanner most people compare TapScanner with:

Questions about TapScanner MOD

Is this TapScanner MOD the latest version?

Yes. MOD v3.1.23 matches the current Google Play release v3.1.23. When Google Play ships a newer version, this page shows it as pending until a working MOD is approved.

Is TapScanner MOD APK 3.1.23 safe to install?

We link the exact 3.1.23 build from its source, re-check the link daily and list only what the source labels it — Premium Unlocked. We also opened the file: it reports the real package name, version 3.1.23, an Android 9 minimum and 64-bit libraries only, with camera and storage permissions and no location permission. It is still a modified APK that does not come from Google Play, so install it on a device you are comfortable with and expect Play Protect to warn first.

What does Premium unlock in TapScanner?

On the device: the five-saves-a-day cap goes, exports lose the watermark, the ads stop, and the ID-card template, signature, merge, split, password and compress tools open without credits or a trial. Scanning itself, filters and PDF export were already free, and OCR is free on Android according to Tap's own help centre.

Does PDF-to-Word conversion work?

Not promised. Conversions and the Tap AI tools are the kind of job an app sends to a server, and if TapScanner does, a flag on the device does not change what the server allows. Everything that runs on the phone — scanning, editing, signing, merging, exporting — works as Premium.

Is OCR included?

Yes, but not because of the mod — Tap's help centre says OCR is free on Android and Premium-only on iOS. Expect it to download language data the first time, which needs internet.

Will it install on my phone?

If the phone is 64-bit and runs Android 9 or newer, yes — the file carries only 64-bit ARM libraries and declares Android 9 as its minimum, so older or 32-bit devices refuse it. The store copy must be uninstalled first because the signature differs.

TapScanner or CamScanner?

TapScanner is the smaller, faster one — a 43 MB file against 226 MB — with the same clean exports once Premium is on, and no location permission. CamScanner has the bigger document manager, cloud sync and server-side OCR to Word and Excel, though those server features stay on its free tier in a modded build. Both are linked on this page.

Is 3.1.23 the latest version of TapScanner?

It is the newest build the source has posted and the version the file itself reports. TapScanner updates every week or two; the status line above the button shows whether a newer build is being prepared, and when the source posts one our daily check publishes it after a review.
